Southeast Stories: Solid Rock CDC’s CommUNITY Food Bank

This story product is from CEC awardee Solid Rock Community Development Corporation. The Corporation has been investing in healthy environments, housing, business, and infrastructure in Southeast Colorado Springs since 2018.

Solid Rock CDC's CommUNITY Food Bank serves Southeast Colorado Springs, where the median income is 36 percent lower than the city's average. On each of its five food distribution days per month, the Food Bank serves over 320 households, providing residents with fresh produce, meats and meat substitutes, bread, dry goods, milk, eggs, and pet food. Just as important, the CommUNITY Food Bank is a welcoming place, a hub of connection for staff, patrons, and volunteers.
