Denver Food Rescue: Albondigas with Alexis

This story product comes from Colorado Equity Compass (CEC) Awardee, Denver Food Rescue (DFR). DFR works to fight food insecurity and provide access to fresh and healthy food to the community it serves. Over the past 6 months, the organization collected the unique stories of the families facing barriers and gaps in food access that highlight how food is part of everyone’s story and family connection. Here are a few words from DFR describing this story: “This story highlights one of the participants in the Healthy Choice Food Box Program and her experience in regard to housing access. Housing access is a basic human right that provides safety and security for individuals. We discuss how our participant navigated and pushed through these challenges to provide her family this safety and security.
