Colorado, Join the Data Use Learning Collaborative

Colorado, Join the Data Use Learning Collaborative

The Colorado Equity Compass (CEC) is excited to announce the Data Use Learning Collaborative which provides participants an opportunity to build connections and gain practical skills to effectively use data to promote equity. The Data Use Learning Collaborative consists of four virtual meetings with opportunities for individualized help with data (technical assistance) provided by the Colorado Health Institute. The objectives for the Learning Collaborative include:

  • Learn - Enhance Knowledge and Skills: Equip participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to effectively use the Equity Data Navigator and other data tools enabling them to access and interpret equity-related data accurately.

  • Build - Connections - Foster Collaborative Networks: Facilitate connections and foster a collaborative environment among participants, encouraging the sharing of insights, strategies, and best practices for using equity data to address common challenges and goals.

  • Advance Equity - Promote Data-Driven Equity Initiatives: Empower participants to leverage the Equity Data Navigator and other data tools to develop and implement data-driven initiatives that address disparities and promote equity.

  • Improve the CEC for Community - Gather and Integrate Feedback: Collect participant feedback throughout the collaborative to understand their specific needs and challenges. This will ensure continuous improvement of the Equity Data Navigator and accompanying training and curriculum, making sure the tool remains user-friendly, effective, and incredibly helpful for the communities they serve.

By the end of the learning collaborative, participants will complete a small data project to create a relevant equity-focused data product for their organization’s use. Awardees will be encouraged to use data from the CEC website in their equity-focused data product. Any products that result from the Learning Collaborative will be promoted and made public through CEC media channels. By sharing these more broadly, CEC hopes to inspire action and encourage change that addresses the health disparities and needs of Colorado communities.    Background  The Colorado Equity Compass (CEC) works to empower communities – and the organizations that serve them – to better understand health equity issues and advocate for change using data and stories. The CEC Collaborative, a team with members from Change Matrix, Consume & Create, Colorado Health Institute, and The Colorado Trust, supports a data platform to aid storytelling and activism efforts with Colorado-focused, community-level health equity indicators. The CEC Data Use Learning Collaborative supports the mission of the Colorado Equity Compass to provide communities and organizations with the data and stories they need to improve health equity.
