  1. Select your platform Identify which social media platform is right for you and your organization. Some platforms, such as Instagram, might be better for the incorporation of visuals. Other platforms, such as TikTok, might be more useful for reaching larger audiences.

  2. Craft your message Create a clear story that effectively communicates your message or request. Incorporate a personal anecdote, a story from a community member, data, and/or visuals to make your message more compelling and persuasive.

  3. Use hashtags or tags Tagging individuals and organizations or using hashtags allows you to boost the visibility of your post or story.

  4. Share credible information Before you post or share, ensure that the information you choose is reliable and accurate.

  5. Engage Help increase the visibility of stories and posts surrounding the issues you care about by liking, sharing, and reposting.
