Helpful Steps

  1. Identify your topic of discussion Using the EDN, research the issues that are affecting your community and read stories from community members.

  2. Find a meeting Check your local government website, social media, or community boards to find upcoming meetings that best fit your topic of interest. Meetings could include boards and commissions.

  3. Prepare your questions or comments Outline key points that you want to emphasize. This is a great place to share an impactful story from you or another community member.

  4. Engage During the meeting, ask questions, take notes, and actively listen to those around you.

  5. Follow up Contact officials following the meeting to stay involved and engaged.
